Practice Areas

Civil
Litigation

We represent individuals and businesses in a wide range of civil litigation matters. Brad and Sam have each been civil litigators for their entire careers. At our firm we combine a deep understanding of the law, out-of-the-box thinking, and a practical, results-oriented approach to every problem we confront.

Construction Litigation

We have litigated a wide range of construction disputes, ranging from multi-million dollar public contracts to residential kitchen remodels. We represent owners, project engineers, builders, and subcontractors at all stages of the dispute.

Criminal Investigations

We represent clients involved in all manner of criminal investigations.  Brad served as a federal criminal prosecutor early in his career, and he has represented a number of clients in federal and state criminal investigations in private practice.  Brad also represents clients facing indictments in federal court.  If you’ve been charged with a crime, or if you may be involved in an investigation by law enforcement, an experienced criminal defense lawyer can help guide you to a favorable outcome.

Insurance
Recovery

We exclusively represent policyholders seeking insurance coverage when their insurers delay paying claims, refuse to pay the full claim, or deny coverage outright. Insurance companies often leverage their tremendous size and resources to resist paying claims for as long as they can. Sam has practiced insurance recovery at the highest level, pursuing 9-figure claims from leading insurers and reinsurers.

Tax Controversies

We represent individuals and businesses in audits and litigation involving federal and state taxes. Brad served as a trial attorney in the Tax Division of the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., for over six years before entering private practice.  Brad has experience in tax controversies involving cryptocurrency transactions, offshore accounts (including failure to file FBARs), and syndicated conservation easements.  Whether your matter involves an “eggshell audit” with possible criminal exposure or merely a dry disagreement over the legal meaning of a provision of the tax code, an experienced tax lawyer can help you achieve the best possible outcome.
